Funeral for Coal

Mon 17th July 4.45-6pm

Meet outside Josh Frydenberg’s office 695 Burke Road, Camberwell

TEXT:

In April 2017 religious leaders from across the country signed an open letter to Minister Frydenberg stating clear opposition to the Adani coal mine.

Minister Frydenberg has still not responded to our concerns. Adani is still receiving special treatment, free water and possibly a $1billion taxpayer-subsidised loan for the biggest coal mine in Australia’s history.

Across the country, people everywhere are standing up to #StopAdani. Thousands of people and hundreds of groups have been set up to prevent this disastrous mine.

Today religious leaders, people of faith and others are uniting together to hold an interfaith Funeral for Coal. We are here to tell Minister Frydenberg that coal is dead and must stay buried.

We are asking people to wear black, bring a sign and feel free to join in with the singing.
