A stellar line up of film, music and talks from all over the world, so join us at the Fremantle Town Hall on Thursday August 3 from 6pm to see How We Win the West from uranium mining.

Mayor Brad Pettit will give the opening speech on the City of Fremantle being a lead Council in the global Mayors for Peace Campaign. This is a campaign of Mayors all around the world that advocates for the elimination of nuclear weapons.

The event will premiere the award-winning film “Walking for Country” a short documentary produced by local film maker Rez Nezamdoust on the 2015 Walkatjurra Walkabout.

Walkatjurra Walkabout is a one month walk across Wangkatja country, from Wiluna to Leonora as testament to the strength of the community who have fought to stop uranium mining at Yeelirrie for over forty years and a chance to come to together to continue our commitment to a sustainable future without nuclear.

Join us as for an inspiring evening with talks from Traditional Owners as they talk about protecting their communities and country from uranium mining in WA.

Highlighting the rich vein of music talent running through the Goldfields, singer/songwriter Marcus McGuire from Perth and Kalgoorlie will be performing his original alternative rock and blues music.

Hear from long-time activist and respected speaker on creating a nuclear free future, Dave Sweeney from the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF).

International activists from Canada and Taiwan will share information on what they are doing to stop the nuclear industry in their country.Delicious food, beer on tap and mulled wine available and entry is by donation.
