Introducing – Refuge, Advocacy Help by Muslims in Australia 4 Women

A strong need exists to create a network of support and long-term follow-up and prevention, for those in the Muslim Community who may have been affected by violence, intimidation and abuse, particularly women in domestic violence situations.

The main aim is to start a Muslim Woman’s safe house that is secure and professionally staffed, and eventually a full program with social work /case managers/psychologists and community follow-up…progressing to such ideas as a telephone support help-line, prevention programs, eventual prgression to kids program and men etc

Expressions of interest for helpers/ideas/interim committee members, and a day long forum of lectures in a lecture theatre to further discuss management, prevention, and stretegies with the wider community.
