Soul Sangeet vol 9 in Ewingsdale, 25th November 2017

The next Soul Sangeet Episode vol 9 will be the last of the Year as we prepare for a special new year finale.

We welcome one of Australia’s finest Indian sitarists Saikat Bhattacharya to this next event for another recital of world class music and the exciting first meeting / riveting duo (jugalbandi) with one of Australia’s finest slide artists Shivam Rath on the 22 string slide.

Indian Classical Music: is often largely improvisation following very strict structure and set modes of notes known as Raga. It is often described as a conversation between musicians as they describe and express the various moods within the Raga.

We invite you : Come and witness the exciting first time meeting of these two instrumentalists as they get to know each other for the first time. Joining the conversation on drums is Tabla wallah Shen Flindell who is also one of Australias senior players and accredited teachers of the art.

Dance and Workshop:
Last but not least is the recently rising Yogeshwari Giri who will be sharing the mystical dance of Siva. A more in depth introduction will be shared from 5:30 – 7pm with a practical side and a group musical meditation
