What is Homam / Havan?
Homam / Havan is a fire ritual. It is also known as havan or
yajana. In homam, divine presence is invoked into fire using specific procedures.
Then materials are offered into fire, along with sacred chants (mantras). The offerings are destined to reach gods. It is worth noting that fire ritual is an ancient practice.
Why perform Homam / Havan:
Lord Vishnu, the supreme God is considered as the protector of earth who helps for living a peaceful life.
He is also known by different names and plays a key role in warding off evil forces and enemies.
The Sudarshana chakra of Lord Vishnu is considered as a powerful one which is mainly used for destroying demons and ill forces.
Vedic scriptures describe Sudarshana weapon as an omnipotent one and organizing Sudarshana homam will lead to overall benefits for a person and his/her family.
