A relaxing afternoon spent painting the small flat-backed statues of the buddhas (tsa-tsas).
You don’t need any artistic skill to enjoy this activity! Although the statues themselves are relatively simple, just by concentrating on the holy form and contemplating the qualities of the buddha, you can draw those qualities into reality, brush-stroke by brush-stroke. This is an immensely enjoyable activity, and a nice way to socialise with other LTC students.
This is a contemplative class for adults, although we have had some very dedicated children attend in an ‘honorary adult’ capacity, and produce some detailed and delightful tsa-tsas!
All the paints are supplied. We already have some completed tsa-tsas in the library of varied colours and designs. Once the painting is finished, you can take your tsa-tsa home, or else is can be used to decorate the new altar.
No need to book, just come along. No artistic skill required! Suggested donation $10 (or $5 concession).
