Australian Hub for Indian Music is an organisation by a group of Indian Musicians in Brisbane promoting contemporary Indian Music and multicultural harmony within the community.
Whether your child is a beginner or more advanced, AHIM Junior Music Fest Sangeethotsavam 2018 offers them the opportunity to perform a solo in front of a small, supportive audience of family, friends and peers. They will receive a constructive, encouraging adjudication report from one of AHIM’s many accomplished musicians/teachers and also a fabulous, shiny trophy to take home!

Details: All students play in their academic school year. Performance limited from Year 3 to Year 12. Instruments classified to Percussion (Drums, Tablas, Congas, Bongos, Mrudangam, Ganjira etc), Strings (Guitar, Violin, Harp, Banjo, Ukelele etc), Wind (Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Trumpet, Sax, Brass, Trombone etc) and Piano (Piano, Keyboard, harmonium, melodica etc).
Vocals should be a song in one of the Indian languages.
A Digital Piano 88 Keys Fully weighted hammered and Drum kit 5 piece will be provided.
Entry Fee $30 (incl. GST) + booking fees (90c) Please note, entries close 25 Feb 2018. Please note you only have to buy tickets for performing students. Observers can buy tickets at the door on the day of the performance; $5 per person.
Time Limit Strictly 5 minutes (performers may play more than one piece)
Trophies Each performer will receive a trophy and report.
Accompanist AHIM will not provide accompanists. Performers are welcome to organise their own accompanist if preferred.
Performance Time Please note that students will be assigned a one hour time slot between 9am and 5pm for their performance on this day. Performers will be notified their time by Sun the 1st of April 2018.
