This festival is celebrated to commemorate the pastime of the Lord Krsna lifting the Govardhana Hill on His little finger at the age of seven only, in order to protect the residents of Vrindavana from torrential rains sent by Indra.
On this day Govardhana Hill is worshiped in a small replica form, made from cake and other delectable in temple.
This replica of the Govardhana Hill is generally known as annakoota and is then distributed as prasadam to all present! Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity of circumambulating the Govardhana hill and listening to the Lord’s pastime Program at the temple is as follows:
6 .00 pm – Govardhana Parikrama (circumambulating the Govardhana hill) 7.00 pm- Gaura Aarti 7.30 pm – Damodar Aarati & Kirtan
Free Feast will be served between 6-8.30 pm
