Raman Bhalla, Principal
Raman Bhalla is the founding principal of Proactive CFOs and Business Advisors Pty Ltd.
Raman has a number of years of experience in resident/ nominee director’s services, corporate advisory, financial management and corporate governance, to both listed and unlisted organisations.
He has the expertise in setting up the corporate, tax, legal and management reporting structures in Australia and overseas jurisdictions.
He has assisted organisations to raise capital through public offering, private equity and through debt instruments.
He has substantial experience in setting up management reporting, tax planning, board reporting, and investor relations and successfully executing the transactions to raise capital in real estate, funds management.
Raman acts as resident director for a number of firms operating in Australia and helps to meet the regulatory requirements in Australia. He provides oversight to the compliance and risk management framework.
Raman acts as Company Secretary of the organisations where he manages the board meetings, shareholders meetings, and various regulatory requirements.
He is the independent director on the board of Not-For-Profit organisations and adds significant value for numerous stakeholders.
In his Corporate Advisor/ Chief Financial Officer’s capacity to businesses in various business sectors, he helps businesses to improve financial management, risk management and strategically positioning of the businesses. He helps to establish management reporting and corporate governance systems.
He has comprehensive knowledge of the due diligence process for business mergers, acquisitions and sale including finding the target companies.
He was instrumental in successfully structuring, execution and investor reporting of two large residential mortgage backed transactions for Citibank to secure debt funding.
He was involved in the listing of three international real estate funds for Rubicon Asset Management Ltd at ASX. He successfully managed the operations and governance of these funds across international jurisdictions.
Raman has been a regular speaker at media forums on economic and financial challenges facing small to medium businesses and on government’s economic policy positions.
He is an active contributor to the community by leading and participating in various social and community events including acting as a Vice Chairman of the Australia Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is the President of Sydwest Business Chamber in Western Sydney region.
Raman holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He is also a member of CPA Australia, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Vinay Kolhatkar, Director – Capital Raising
Vinay Kolhatkar is Director, Capital Raising at PCBA. Vinay has transactional experience in unlisted equity, listed equity, private debt, international capital markets, derivatives, and bank debt, with a focus on capital raising, with over twenty years of experience in the field of finance.
Previously, he was the Head of Private Capital at Commonwealth Bank, in charge of a team entrusted with investing capital in infrastructure and providing financial advisory services.
In this capacity, he became the founding Chairman of Great Energy Alliance Corporation, a corporation he helped set up to undertake a takeover of eleven international companies that housed the assets of Loy Yang A, a power station and coal mine complex in Victoria worth $3.5 billion. He was on the Board of TransACT Communications, a broadband provider in Canberra.
Previously he was also a senior executive with a fund manager overseeing $5 billion in international real estate assets, and in charge of economic capital allocation and treasury risk measurement at a major bank.
Vinay’s attributes include the nous to quickly establish the commercial incentives for transacting parties, the ability to express issues with candour and clarity, and a commitment to integrity and diligence.
He was on the Securities Institute of Australia’s Task Force for Corporate Finance. He is also the editor and occasional columnist at an online magazine which he launched in November 2014.
Vinay has an M.Com with an Advanced Specialisation in Finance, a Master of Management Studies, and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours).
Edmund Costigan, Senior Consultant
Eddie is a result- focused leader who has a history of building a winning culture and successful, motivated teams.
He has an extensive strategic and operational leadership background across a wide range of businesses.
Eddie started his career as a Lawyer in New Zealand and then moved into a number of management positions in Commercial Banking and Finance.
In 1994 he was appointed Managing Director of Brookers Ltd,a legal publishing company in NZ when they were acquired by Thomson Reuters ( Global Information Company ).
In 1996 he was promoted to Managing Director of Thomson’s Legal and Regulatory business in Australia and a Director of Thomson Asia Pacific.
Eddie has strong business acumen, with an ability and inclination to seek out and capitalise on business opportunities.
Since leaving the corporate world, Eddie co founded a successful retail business which was sold to a competitor and has been involved in a number of start up companies.
Eddie’s focus is now on investing in property ventures and raising private equity and advisory services to private companies.
