The Hindu Council of Australia (HCA) along with number of community organisations and Yoga schools is preparing to celebrate the second International Yoga Day on June 21, 2016.
A number of events will be organized in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane. Sydney, the yoga capital of Australia, will pay one of the most splendid tributes to the 5000 year old discipline.
In Sydney, the iconic Bondi beach, along with the multicultural hub Parramatta, are ready to share the inspiration of this ancient wisdom, and how it can be applied practically modern day life.
Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane are will also witness exciting and inspiring events on the historic occasion. Please don’t forget to check each city’s page for more details.
The events will highlight the benefits of the physical yoga practices as well as sharing insights into the mind and wellbeing aspects of this valuable storehouse of ancient knowledge.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address to the UN General Assembly in September 2014 called for the adoption of 21 June as the International Day of Yoga.
Recognizing the importance of yoga, 175 nations, including the USA, Canada and China, are celebrating the event.
