You will learn and experiment with a vast variety of encaustic techniques, creating sample boards as well as completed artworks. There will be lots of time to play and create your own works.
You will learn how to make your own wax medium and prepare surfaces to create beautiful luminous paintings. Mo will show you step by step how to achieve smooth and textured surfaces.
During the two days, there will be many new techniques to add to your expanding knowledge of encaustic.
Techniques will include:
Smooth and textured surfaces, fusing, colour blending, image transfertechniques, intarsia, line and edge, incising, stencil work, scraping, embedding and lots more.
You will learn how to use encaustic with: graphite, pigments, charcoal, dry and oil pastels, inks, oil sticks, stencils, gold leaf and other foils and much, much more.
By the end of the workshop you will walk away with enough knowledge to set up your own encaustic workspace and have all the tools in your kitbag to create work with colour, depth and luminosity that only the encaustic process can produce.
