To celebrate 40 years since the release of The Saints’ debut seminal album, “(I’m) Stranded”, guitarist Ed Kuepper gives an exclusive “In Conversation” about the album’s release, recording and how the political climate in Brisbane influenced one of the most important albums of all time.
Released on 21st February 1977, featuring Chris Bailey (vocals), Ed Kuepper (guitar), Ivor Hay (drums) & Kym Bradshaw (bass), “(I’m) Stranded” is often regarded as Australia’s first ever punk album and perhaps the world’s contemporaneous with The Ramones & Sex Pistols
It’s debut single (the title track), was issued ahead of the album in September 1976, which Sounds magazine’s reviewer, John Ingham declared was the “Single of this and every week”.
