A rare opportunity to hear three of Melbourne’s most exciting and diverse jazz vocalists sharing the stage and galloping through the jazz canon in their inimitable styles.
The evening is a celebration of all the best elements jazz singing has to offer a modern audience; the thrilling and effortless improvisational runs by Scat diva Olivia Chindamo, the aching ballads and tender tones of song stylist Kimba Griffith, and the peerless precision and high-spirited trad sounds of Ben Gillespie on vocals and trombone.
Backed by a heavyweight trio (Phil Rex – Bass, Ryan Griffith – Guitar, Hugh Harvey – Drums), this trio will offer solo interpretations, classic duets, and all out vocalese and harmonic mash-ups.
A night for anyone who loves the fine and diverse tradition of jazz vocals.
