The Poilice waere called at the Hospital @ 10:30PM (Tuesday 12th Jan 2016)
It is known that a man was threatening a doctor with Scissors
During a struggle, the offender managed to wrest the gun off the police officer and opened fire resulting in the police officer and a security guard being shot.
The police officer suffered a gunshot wound to the upper leg.
The security guard suffered a gunshot wound to his calf.
Their condition is not known at this time.
A 39-year-old man has been arrested and is currently assisting police with inquiries.
A critical incident team from North West Metropolitan Region will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident.

This morning, a 39-year-old man was charged with shooting with intent to kill after allegedly wresting Senior Constable Warbuton’s gun off him and opening fire during the struggle inside the hospital late last night.
