Diwali Fete in Glen Huntly Primary School, Melbourne – 9th Nov 2015
Come celebrate Diwali with us at Glen Huntly Primary School.
Diwali is an Indian Hindu festival of lights, held each year in October or November. Diwali is associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, and marks the beginning of the financial year in India. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness.
Glen Huntly Primary School is proud of its dedicated and professional staff, its engaging curriculum, its wide and open spaces, but most of all, its diverse and inclusive community. We embrace and celebrate our cultural diversity and have been celebrating Diwali for the past few years.
This year, Glen Huntly Primary School is inviting you all to celebrate Diwali with us, just like it would be celebrated in India – with a Diwali Fete. There will be lots of stalls offering authentic and delicious homemade Indian food (like Biryani, Samosas, Kulfi, Lassi, sweets, Dosas and much, much more), a BBQ and cake stall, Indian craft and dress material stalls, henna artists, and a fantastic evening of entertainment planned including a jumping castle for the kids.
Diwali will be celebrated on Friday 6 November from 5.30PM to 9.00PM at Glen Huntly Primary School, Grange Road, Glen Huntly.
