BAAP KA BAAP Hindi Play/Drama Live in Sydney on 17th April 2015
Director: Naveen Bawa
Artists: Padmini Kolhapure, Asrani, Chitrashi Rawat, Naveen Bawa.
In the genre of spine-chilling comic drama that shakes up age old stigmas and taboos, comes yet another play by Naveen Bawa – Baap Ka Baap.
Baap Ka Baap is a study of the emotional relationship of Jawan (Asrani), a doting father who single handedly raises his son, Bacha (Naveen Bawa), sacrificing his own needs of companionship and love. His only ambition is to see his son get married.
However, fate had a different design in store for Jawan, who rediscovers his youth and longing for love in a young, blossoming, sexy and seductive NRI girl, Namkeen (Chitrashi Rawat). Desire quickly overtakes duty and Jawan struggles to keep this relationship a secret from his son.
As if that wasn’t enough, Bacha meets a widow named Mithai (Padmini Kolhapure). What attracts him to Mithai is her painful past. Living in a shell for as long as she remembers, Mithai finds solace in Bacha, leading to a fiery, unusual and touching affair between the two.
This play is a roller coaster ride where four souls are intertwined with one thread – love. In their journey to solve this jigsaw puzzle, their moralities, social taboos, love, ambition and sense of duty will be challenged, probed and discovered.
