Diwali Mela 2014 at PERTH on 25th Oct @ Claremont Showground

Diwali Mela 2014 (The Festival of Lights) will be organised by Indian Society of Western Australia (ISWA) in collaboration with other Indian associations of WA on Saturday 25 October 2014 from 12:00pm to 9:30pm at Claremont Showground, Perth. The event is expected to be be much bigger this year and attract larger crowd due to wide publicity, Show Grounds train stop (public transport), ample parking and proximity to wider community. Government of India has organised a prominent Manipuri dance troupe from India for the event.
ISWA has invited three young Bollywood stars Pratik Babbar, Siddhart Bhardwaj and Shivani Rana from India to perform at Diwali Mela in addition to the local talent.
Fire-works will be in a larger scale which will be at 8pm.
It is a smoke free, alcohol free family event and welcome everyone.
Diwali Mela will have 20+ food stalls serving authentic Indian snacks, and a wide variety of dishes and 50+ non-food stalls contain fabrics, Henna, Indian groceries, Banking and Mortgage services and display of a number Indian small entrepreneurs.
The cultural programs start at 12pm include live bands, songs, dances and performances of all ages. The fashion show will be an added attraction to the programs. Stage performances include Indian and multicultural artists.
A range of entertainment for children and adults were arranged which include camel rides, bouncy castles, tractor trains and many more.
Arrangements were made to stop trains during the show at Show Grounds station. Regular bus services were also made available to Claremont Showground. Ample car parking was arranged.

The payment can be made either by bank transfer (ISWA “Bank West” BSB No: 306 035 Account No: 4170074) or by cheque (drawn in favour of Indian Society of WA) or by cash to Diwali Mela organisers; along with the application form, Form-2 (to hire Food Stalls) duly filled and signed and Annexure-1 duly signed.
The last date for submission of applications for Food Stalls is 30 September 2014 and for Non-Food Stalls is 6 October 2014. The food-stall holders will have to organise commercial kitchen and provide a copy of Food Registration / Notification Certificate issued by Local Council.
