Guru Nanak Dev Sahib blessed us with the greatest divine vision. He emphasized that, singing of praise of AKAL PURAKH with deep devotion was the supreme form of worship, especially when it was recited in the appropriate measure and rhythm prescribed for the Shabad. The successor Gurus kept up this tradition and the tradition of Shabad Kirtan was established. Thus, Shabad Kirtan became the most important part of the Sikh congregational prayers. Guru Sahitoyis imparted this profound knowledge of music to the Sikh Sangat and made their Sikhs great KIRTAN I AS. All Gurus composed Gurbani in Ragas.
As young Sikhs let us keep the learning alive and become the torch bearers of divinity.
