“I had been at Lal Quila for lunch. It was 3.00 pm and me and my friend ordered two biriyanis. The waiter took the order and went to the kitchen. We were just having a glance at the ambience and were surprised to see the quantity of a single biriyani served for the neighbouring table. On seeing this my friend said,” if this is the quantity served then it would be very difficult for us to finish it” When our order came at the table the quantity of food was as expected. It was 23$ per biryani. We managed to eat as much required and had to waste almost half of the food. At the billing counter the same waiter took our payment.I just thought to share my experience and suggeste him to be more interactive with the customers. If he would have suggested at least once that 2 biryanis for two of you will be very much and ordering only one would be enough we could have avoided this waste ( food and money) He apologised for it but his reason for not suggesting us was not that convincing..he said to me “Sir, we are new here and if you would have ordered 2 similar dish then i would have suggested but since it was 2 different biryanis i thought you would be able to finish it off? Still trying to understand the logic behind his reasoning… Taste of the food is good..customer service is pooor.”
“Very Good Food It was yummmo but the Service is very bad …. it take the staff sooo long to take order … then while we are sitting there they said kitchen is closed for Chai … tried to get rid of us by giving bill and started cleaning and clearing tables!!!! Customer Service neee to be changed if you want people to come again … You have a nice setup and good chef just concentrate on customer service a bit more”
“Lal Qila Surry hills have been always my first choice for Pakistani food . I have tried their darling harbour branch and they live up to the reputation of best Pakistani restaurant in Sydney, food was delicious and serving was generous enough to the double the amount you get from other Desi restaurant . Highly recommended!”
“It was such a nice experience of buffet lunch. All the dishes were authentic Pakistani flavor one can feel the real aroma of spices. Ambience was very nice and vintage style cutlery gave it very unique look unlike other places who from walls to napkins present everything in red.”
“I visited the place with my wife yesterday and tried their Lunch Buffet. In $25 per person, it wasn’t a bad deal but some of the items were not fresh. The best in the menu were their Butter Chicken, Mint Chutney, Raita and Chicken Tikka. They should seriously work on providing Fresh Bread(Naan) on the table as both times i picked up Naan, it was cold and brittle. Pakora’s were cold. Biryani was fine but needs to be a bit more spicy Overall ambiance was good but I am not sure if i will visit it again or not or I may try Ala carte if it is served fresh.”
