North Shore Women's Health was established in January 2008 by Dr Nirmala Daya, a practicing GP with a strong interest in women's health (particularly gynaecological and breast matters) and surgery.
Dr Daya migrated to Australia after graduating from the University of Natal, South Africa. After successfully completing the AMC examination and an internship at Hornsby Hospital, Dr Daya has been in general practice on the North Shore for over 20 years. She then continued with her interest in surgery and has practiced as a surgical assitant from that time.
Dr Daya regularly assists several different specialists, particularly urogynaecologists, breast surgeons, plastic and reconstructive surgeons and obstetricians and gynaecologists. These operations and regular interaction with specialists has helped to enhance her understanding and management of women's health issues, in particular those relating to incontinence and prolapse.
