Dr. Vikram Puttaswamy Vascular Surgeon
Dr Vikram Puttaswamy is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon who specialises in major and complex endovascular and vascular surgical procedures. He trained at Royal North Shore, Royal Melbourne and Westmead hospitals and has been practicing as a Vascular Surgeon since 2005 in the public and private sector.
He is a Fellow in Vascular Surgery of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and completed a Fellowship in General Surgery before training in Vascular Surgery.
As well as being a VMO at North Shore Private Hospital, The Mater – North Sydney, Sydney Adventist Hospital and Lady Davidson Hospital, he is the Vascular Surgery Head of Department at Royal North Shore Hospital.
He is also involved in the teaching of undergraduate students in his role as Clinical Senior Lecturer – Sydney Medical School (Northern), is the Supervisor of Vascular Surgery Training at Royal North Shore Hospital and is engaged in numerous university and industry funded research projects.
Dr Puttaswamy grew up in Canberra and went to Newcastle University. He is a keen sportsman and has an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of contemporary sport. In particular he loves cricket! We have also been informed by reliable third parties that he is the “Trivia King”. Dr Puttaswamy lives in the northern Sydney suburbs with his wife (also a Dr) and two teenage children.
