Harvinder Bedi is an internationally trained Melbourne orthopaedic surgeon. After completing a medical degree through the University of Melbourne in 1992, Harvinder underwent orthopaedic training in Victoria and, in 2002, was accepted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Between 2004 and 2005, Harvinder Bedi undertook a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, UK, under Mr Paul Cooke - President of the British Foot Surgery Society.
This included particular training in arthroscopy and forefoot surgery such as the correction of bunions, as well as reconstructive surgery for arthritis and following trauma.
Between 2003 and 2005, Harvinder also recently complete a Master of Public Health degree through Monash University, with a particular interest in injury prevention. Currently, Harvinder also works at Box Hill Hospital where he is involved in the immediate and longer-term management of trauma.
Harvinder maintains a strong focus on research and the training of future local and international surgeons and is an examiner with the Royal College of Surgeons.
More recently, Harvinder has developed a special interest in Minimally Invasive Surgery. He was the first in Victoria to widely utilize these newer methods and has published, taught and presented extensively on this technique.
