A yogi should do everything with awareness, without reacting to outer situations. Once you embrace a yogic lifestyle it will be with you every moment. But how do you practice yoga beyond the mat and incorporate it into your lifestyle?
To begin with, one must understand that Yoga is not a three times a week practice in order to relax, increase flexibility or to stay in shape. These are the by-products of yoga and not the ultimate goal.
The first two limbs of “The Eight Limbs of Yoga’ as described by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras 2.26-2.34 – Yama and Niyama, holds the essence to a yogic lifestyle. They are the fundamental principles which sustain the spiritual growth and development.
