For the whole duration of every appointment the patient is assured of being in the hands of a specialist orthodontist.
Our philosophical approach to orthodontics is simple. We treat each patient according to their particular needs. Each orthodontic case is unique and requires treatment accordingly.
Treatment is designed with the end in mind. Before treatment is commenced, a comprehensive plan is established and this goal is then achieved by appropriate treatment strategies. A considerable amount of time is spent diagnosing and planning the treatment procedures in order to achieve a stable result. Not all teeth will, therefore, have "braces" placed on them at the beginning of treatment. This minimises the number of teeth to be moved at any one time so that there is no "round tripping".
Dr Sunil Hettige is a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, the American Association Of Orthodontists and the European Society Of Orthodontists. An orthodontist is someone who has a dental surgeon's qualification and then completes a specialist postgraduate course of at least 3 years in the speciality of Orthodontics. As a specialist, he/she practices orthodontics exclusively.
