Dr Gautam Vaddadi is a cardiologist with a particular interest in clinical and non-invasive cardiovascular therapy, including stress echocardiography. He is able to provide private outpatient consultations as well as diagnostic tests such as echocardiography and stress echocardiography. Inpatient care can be provided at a number of leading private hospitals including Knox Private Hospital, Mitcham Private and Cabrini Malvern. Additionally Dr. Vaddadi is accredited at both The Alfred and Northern hospitals and can therefore provide comprehensive care through our public health care system when required. The Alfred is the leading hospital treating cardiovascular disease in Victoria and is the heart transplant hospital for our state.
Dr Vaddadi graduated in Medicine from the University of Melbourne in 1999. He undertook physician training at Austin Health before moving to the Alfred in 2004 for advanced training in cardiology and heart failure. From 2006 to 2009 he undertook a PhD through Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute and Monash University investigating how the nervous system regulated blood pressure in patients who suffer from recurrent syncope (fainting episodes and dizzy spells). These studies culminated in the publication of a number of landmark research papers in international journals and Dr Vaddadi was awarded the prestigious Ralph Reader Prize in 2008 by the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand for his research work.
Dr Vaddadi continues to hold appointments in both Cardiology and General Medicine at The Alfred. His current focus is on clinical cardiology and has established a new consultation and diagnostic service at Mitcham Rd Consulting Suites. Services available include:
