Pushpani commenced her employment at the National Health Co-op as a registered General Practitioner in 2013, following extensive work experience and training in Sri Lanka and the USA. Prior to joining the National Health Co-op, Pushpani practiced as a Research Officer at Australian National University.
Pushpani obtained her medical degree from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura in Sri Lanka, and a Master of Health Science and Neuroscience from University of Texas at Arlington, USA. Pushpani also holds an AMC certificate and an FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health for Doctors. Pushpani obtained her PhD at the Australian National University in 2019, focusing on the effect of long term medications on cognitive function in ageing.
