Dr Priyantha graduated from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2001. He worked at Kandy teaching hospital, Sri Lanka as a Medical officer before migrating to Australia in 2009. Dr Priyantha started to work at the Emergency departments of Campbelltown, Liverpool and Camden hospitals as a Career medical officer. He moved to Tamworth to pursue his career as a general practitioner in 2012.He passed Royal Australian College of General practitioner examination and obtained FRACGP qualification in 2015.Dr Priyantha completed “Diploma in Child Medicine’ conducted by the University of Sydney in 2016. He had been a teacher for medical students, accredited GP supervisor and a clinical teaching visitor at the time he was working at Tamworth Aboriginal Medical Service from 2016 to 2019.He is a clinical examiner for Royal Australian College of General practitioner since 2019. He enjoys travelling, music and cricket when he is away from work.
