Dr Alvin Prakash graduated in 2008 with a high distinction from James Cook University. He has extensive and varied medical experience having worked and supervised junior doctors in regional centres of Australia including Darwin, Maryborough and Hervey Bay. He went on to achieve the highest ranking for selection into general practice fellowship training and worked as a GP in Brisbane whilst undertaking further education and training in skin cancer medicine and surgery. He regularly attends and assists in delivering university assured skin cancer surgery training for GPs and dedicates his practice completely in this field at Coorparoo and Redcliffe.
Alvin understands the need for timely and skilled management of skin cancer in the community and takes care to examine the skin of all his patients for the earliest signs of skin malignancy and melanoma detection through dermatoscopic examination. He is experienced in employing a range of surgical and non-surgical treatments for sun damage and skin cancers.
