<p>General Practitioner, Female<BR>BSc, FRACGP, MBBS, MRCGP<BR></p>             <p>Dr Pratiksha Nirmal (affectionately known as ‘Pia’) joined Guardian Medical in 2019 and is originally from the UK. She qualified in 2012 and gained extensive experience in a number of specialties, before she decided to become a GP.</p>  <p>A warm and personable doctor, Dr Nirmal particularly enjoys getting to know her patients and their families in order to holistically care for them.</p>  <p>Her skills extend from routine GP consultations to a wide range of conditions including Mental health, Chronic Disease Management such as asthma, diabetes and high blood pressure, Women and Children’s Health and Elderly Care.</p>  <p>She has special interests in Sexual Health and Diabetes, having worked in dedicated clinics for both and has also completed a Diploma in Diabetes.</p>  <p>Dr Nirmal is passionate about medical education and teaching the next generation of doctors; she holds an honorary role with the University of Melbourne as an Academic mentor for medical students.</p>  <p>When away from work, she enjoys quizzing, Formula 1 and cricket, which were some of the reasons she decided to move to Melbourne.
