Dr Prashan “Prash” Kuruppu moved to Clare Medical Centre in late 2016, to complete his fellowship with the Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine (ACRRM).
Born in Sri Lanka, Prashan completed his undergraduate medical training at Manipal University (India). Returning to Sri Lanka, he carried out research in Public Health Policy & Economics with the World Health Organisation within the South East Asian region, before relocating to Australia in 2007.
He has gained a wealth of experience having worked in metropolitan South Australia and the Northern Territory. Prashan decided to combine his passion for anaesthesia whilst serving rural communities by becoming a Rural Anaesthetist.
In his spare time, he helps fundraise for Variety SA; which raises money for sick, disabled and underprivileged children within South Australia. Outside work Prashan enjoys all things social! He is an enthusiastic advocate of local food, coffee and wine. He is equally mad over his cricket!!
