Dr Perera is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She obtained her MBBS degree in 1999 from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. She has undertaken her Post Graduate Diploma in Child Health in Australia in 2009.
Dr Perera has clinical experience of over 20 years as a medical practitioner. She has worked in emergency, paediatrics, general medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology at Modbury Hospital and Lyell McEwin Hospital. She has worked as a rural GP in Barossa before joining Martins Road Family Medical Practice in 2012. Dr Perera has special interests in obstetric shared care, women’s health (including Implanon insertion & removal), paediatrics and chronic disease management.
