General Practitioner, FemaleFRACGP
Freda obtained her medical degree from University College Dublin in 2008 and completed her specialist GP training in Ireland in 2014. She practised in the fields of general and emergency medicine in both rural and urban hospitals in Ireland before making the switch to general practice. The principal aim of this was to have the opportunity to provide continuity of care to her patients. Special interests include dermatology, women’s health and preventative healthcare.
Freda made the move from Ireland to Australia in August 2014, & has worked in Hervey Bay, Gladstone, Moruya, Bateman’s Bay and Tweed Emergency Departments, as well as providing GP care in the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and northern NSW areas.
She relishes the opportunity to live close to the beach since moving to Australia, & truly appreciates the wonderful climate and spectacular scenery the local region offers. Outside of work she is a keen clarinettist and has played with the Australian Doctors' Orchestra and the World Doctors’ Orchestra. She prioritises keeping fit, and goes for daily runs by the ocean.
