My business is about the clothing, to introduce the Desi Culture in the form of wearables. Thanks to my elders who supported me to do the profession studies in Textile Design and to fullfill my ultimate dream. and thanks to my professional studies which opened the doors for me to study different cultures and traditions of the world. and now that i have knowledge about the Textile/Fashion history i believe that our culture/ethnicity is the richest culture ever existed on the very earth.
I started my own Business, my own Brand, ready to wear clothes to promote my ethnicity. because i want to design something different from the market for me It’s the ultimate way to attract people to show our traditions and culture. i started designing the clothes to promote my subject in a more fashionable way for example, In my brand you can find a range of different designs like a blend of Desi and Retro, a mix of Desi colors with the touch of “in” fashion. Mixture of western and eastern to expand my clientele, keeping every design exclusive. something you can’t find out there easily. well!! i mean not insane cuts and loud colors, totally wearable, acceptable evening wear dresses. you can also find kurtas for daily wear. i work in both casuals and formals depending on the order. I also have been the personal designer for many clients back in Pak. and i designed the whole wedding wardrobe for few of my clients. it was the challenging project for me in the given budget but it went great they totally appreciated my work and the exclusivity, uniqueness of my designs. my customers love to wear different from what is available in the market. because they always find unique designs in economical price.
when i moved to Australia i was bit confused about how to manage my wrok here from my country. but then i started seeing the positive side of it. Australia is the huge mixture of people from all over the world. Pakistanis, Indians, Banglis, Sri Lankans and alot more to name. it is a big oppertunity for me to run my business on a bigger scale. i feel more confident and enthusiastic to work for the people from different regions.
when we are away from our homes we are not Pakistanis or Indian or etc. they call us brown skins whatsoever. i feel proud to be called Desi at least we know who we are and what is our ethnicity. after all we belong to a same culture.
