Dr Sheahan Ranasinghe graduated from the University of Liverpool in the UK in 2000. He then embarked on extensive training in emergency medicine over the past 18 years. His love for general practice was born out of the need to provide patients more personal one on one care, thus he became a GP after completing his general practice training in the UK in 2008.
After immigrating to Australia in 2008 he has been working as a general practitioner as well as running a community hospital in Nelson Bay, which has given him exposure to complex medicine over the past 10 years. He has a particular interest in child health, orthopaedics including trauma related injuries, joint disorders and arthritis.
He enjoys taking on the challenge of managing chronic complex cardiac, respiratory diseases and diabetes and have a passion for elderly medicine. He also has particular interested in men’s health , providing skin cancer checks, removal of skin lesions and minor operative procedures.
His aim is to provide the highest standard of holistic medical care with compassion for his patients and their families.
