Dr Indika Ranasinghe (MBBS, MSc, FRACGP, PhD) qualified with a Medical degree, in 1987 at the University of Ruhuna in Sri Lanka. He obtained his PhD in Health Information Management from Queensland University of Technology. In 2014, he obtained the Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He also holds a Masters degree in Medical Administration. Since qualifying as a general practitioner his experience has been equally broad, having worked in regional areas and hospitals in Australia. He believes in disease prevention and a holistic approach to optimising physical and mental health. He ensures he is up to date with the full spectrum of general practice, but particular interests include chronic disease management, child health, treatment of skin cancer and adolescent mental health, He received special training in primary care skin cancer surgery from University of Queensland. Dr Indika speaks English, Sinhala and Tamil. Outside of medicine, he has a variety of interests including reading, movies and travelling. He lives with his family in Parkinson QLD.
