Dr Varghese completed her medical degree at the Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala, India in 2008. A
fter completing her Intern year in India, she moved to Canberra in 2009 and spent her Medical Resident years at The Canberra Hospital, Calvary Hospital and John James Hospital.
She embarked on GP Fellowship Training with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2015. As part of her GP Fellowship training, she enjoyed working in rural NSW at Goulburn, Cooma and Yass, and was also a visiting GP at various nursing homes in these areas.
She later moved to Canberra, joining Ochre Health Centre Kippax when it opened in 2018.
Dr Varghese also holds a Diploma in Child Health from the Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney.
She has a keen interest in women’s health, adolescent female health, pre-pregnancy counselling, antenatal shared care, post-partum care, and family planning including hormonal implant insertion.
As a mother of 2 young kids, Dr Varghese has special interest in paediatrics and providing support to the new mums.
In her spare time, she is passionate about Bollywood dancing and has performed on multiple stages in Canberra.
