She completed a 3 year post graduate Diploma in Family Medicine though the National Board of Examinations New Delhi, India. After completing 6 years of General Practice work in India, she moved to Townsville. She worked as a full time GP in a very busy practice in Townsville for more than 6 years. She received the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2015.
