She has postgraduate qualifications in Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology in addition to General Practice. Dr Abeya moved to Australia in 2010 and has been a GP in Canberra since. Given her background, she undertakes skin checks, performs minor surgical procedures including removal of skin cancers, iron infusions, Implanon and Mirena IUD insertions. She is passionate about nutrition and preventive medicine and has special interests in Diabetes and Osteoporosis.
