Dr Adareeka Jayasinghe supports patients in the diagnosis and care of their broad-ranging medical conditions. She listens carefully and is trained to observe and identify symptoms that patients may overlook, working with each person to improve their health and wellbeing. She takes pleasure in providing continuous care to all patients through their different life stages. She enjoys all aspects of general practice, but has a special interest in children’s and women’s health.
Having moved to Australia from Sri Lanka at four years of age, Dr Jayasinghe grew up in Home Hill, North Queensland before moving to Brisbane as a teenager. She attended medical school at the University of Tasmania and spent her junior doctor years at Ipswich Hospital. Her initial interest in medicine was fostered when she noted a lack of doctors in rural areas, so after deciding to step into general practice she moved to Warwick for her training and worked there for six years. Dr Jayasinghe in now at a different stage in her life with a young family and is enjoying a different side of general practice in an urban setting at Sinnamon Park Medical Centre.
Dr Jayasinghe’s qualifications include Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci) 2007, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with Honours 2008, Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) 2014, and Diploma of Child Health (DCH) 2015. She also has six years’ experience in general practice.
