General Medical Practitioner, Male
Ufaq graduated from the University of Bristol in 2007, having grown up in the north of England. He worked in South West England for 11 years, initially as a hospital based doctor, then later as a GP in urban practice after completing his GP training in Wiltshire.
He moved to Western Australia with his wife in March 2018 to work full-time as a GP for St John in Cockburn. He enjoys the great variety and challenge of general practice and the reward of forming longer term relationships with his patients, in particular people with chronic disease who will benefit most from high quality continuity of care.
He has a particular interest in heart health, gut health, diabetes and men’s health. He is also interested in medical education and was nominated for GP Teacher of the Year in 2016 at the University of Bristol. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf badly, avidly following his home town football team Burnley FC, and exploring the sights of WA with his wife on camping trips.
