Dr. Harini Edirisinghe completed her medical studies in Sri Lanka, and migrated to Australia in 2010. She spent her early medical career working in hospitals in metro and rural locations in NSW and Victoria.
Dr Edirisinghe began training in general practice in 2019 and loved being a GP from the start. She was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in July 2020.
She is a passionate generalist with interest in women's health, paediatrics, chronic disease management, travel health, sexual health and dermatology. She holds a Diploma in Child Health, awarded by the Sydney Children's Hospital Network, and is currently enrolled in a certificate course in dermatology and skin cancer medicine. She is accredited to perform implanon insertion and is happy to perform skin checks and basic skin excisions.
Dr Edirisinghe loves the broad spectrum of challenges a day in general practice brings, is interested in preventative care and health education, and above all values the ongoing relationships she develops with her patients. She works part time, and is available at MKMC on Tuesdays and Fridays and every other weekend.
Outside work Dr Edirisinghe enjoys hiking with her young family, cooks and exercising.
