Dr Ashraf graduated in 1999 and has been working as a General Practitioner and Academic teaching medical students since 2002. As well, he has undertaken medical research and published 32 full peer reviewed articles in international and national scientific journals. He presented in many international and national conferences. He has a special interest in a wide range of health services including, Hypertension (high blood pressure), Cardiovascular Risk Assessment, Men’s Health, Children’s Health, Antenatal and Post-natal Care, Depression and Anxiety (mental health), Travel Vaccinations, Asthma Care and Family Care.
Dr Ashraf was awarded a scholarship to undertake PhD studies, in the field of Hypertension, at the University Of Queensland School Of Medicine which he completed successfully in Jun 2011. He also completed a Masters Degree in 2004.
He received many awards such as prize for excellence in Hypertension Research awarded by Queensland Hypertension Association in 2012 and young investigator travel award for participation at the International Society of Hypertension in 2012. He was nominated as young investigator finalist in the Annual Scientific Meeting of High Blood Pressure Research Council of Australia in 2009, 2010, 2015 and 2017.
