Dr Ahmad is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He is a board member for South Australia & Northern Territory branch of the Royal Australian College of general Practitioners.
He has a post graduate diploma of Family Medicine from South Africa. He has worked in different countries and has 22 years of clinical experience. He works as a supervisor with GPEX GP Training Program and is a clinical examiner for the RACGP and AMC. He was awarded the McCleave Thompson Award in 2007 from the RACGP.
