Make Changes

What happens if the place you call home vanishes beneath your feet? The world you once knew, now gone. “Home” is unfamiliar, strange.

In an intimate performance Tantrum’s Trajectory Ensemble weaves a sea of stories from original poetry, found texts, songs, myths and music in a personal exploration of what it means to feel at home – in the world, in your country, in your suburb, in yourself.

Created and performed by: Sara Barlow, Thomas Lonsdale, Roger Ly, Alexandra Mangano, Meghan Mills, Meg O’Hara, Taylor Reece, Stephanie Rochet, Rosie Scanlan, Clare Todorovitch, and Phoebe Turnbull.

Director: Janie Gibson
Dramaturg: Lucy Shepherd
Sound Designer: Huw Jones
Lighting Designer/Technical Manager: Steven Stuart
Stage Manager: Amy Morris
Producer: Tamara Gazzard
Graphic Design and Photography: Eryn Leggatt

Tantrum’s Trajectory Ensemble is an annual program of professional development for emerging artists interested in process-driven performance making.

Each year the ensemble works with a guest professional artist to create and present a daring, brand new contemporary performance work. This year, Tantrum has invited theatremaker Janie Gibson to lead the ensemble in the development of HOME. Originally from Newcastle, and an alumni of PACT’s contemporary performance training program, Janie’s experiences, skills and approaches are a perfect match to inspire the next generation of Newcastle-based contemporary theatre makers. Janie has worked and trained extensively for the past 10 years internationally and in Australia, and has developed and performed work with Song of the Goat (Poland), Shakespeare and Company (USA) and Next Wave (Australia) among many others. Her work is based in European Ensemble Theatre and devised performance and she brings this experience of rigorous process-driven theatre making practice to the development of HOME.
