Dr. Hemantha Karunaratne

Known as Dr Karu. Dr Karu completed his medical training in Sri Lanka in 1985 and soon migrated to Australia in 1989. He has also completed his postgraduate qualifications in General Practice. Since graduating he has worked in several disciplines of medicines such as General Medicine, General Surgery, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Psychiatry.

Dr Karu has been in general practice since 1996.

He is very passionate about all aspects of Chronic Decease Management and also for caring for the elderly making regular weekly visits to local nursing homes. In addition to clinical work he travels all over regional Victoria to participate in General Practitioner and Nursing Education work.
