Dr. Shaku Shanmugam MBBS , FRACGP is an experienced General Practitioner who has a special interest in women’s and children’s health, with vast experience working in Urban and Rural hospitals including maternity and child health clinics. In 2007 she moved to Cloncurry in Queensland as a senior medical officer, attached to a 20 bed hospital for 3.5 years before she moved to Edmonton Family Medical Centre in Cairns in 2012. She opened her clinic in Toowoomba on the 11th February 2018. She previously worked in Malaysia &, Brunei before moving to Australia. Dr. Shaku speaks a number of languages: English, Malay, Tamil and Hindi / Urudu. Born and educated in Malaysia, she is a 3rd generation Malaysian with roots from India. She interned and worked in hospitals in many states in Malaysia before settling as a GP in Kuala Lumpur.
