Dr Tom Shashian began his academic career as a Microbiologist and Molecular biologist in South Australia. He changed to medicine midway through his PhD in 1997 and graduated from Flinder’s University in 2002. Working and training in General Practice since 2015, Dr Shashian is passionate about all areas of general medicine. However, he also has a variety of special interests and currently holds an Advanced diploma in Obstetrics and gynaecology, a Diploma in Child Health with the University of Sydney and several certificate courses in basic surgery, skin cancer management and travel medicine. A shared care affiliate with Monash Health, Dr Shashian still works as a surgical assistant to both General Surgeons and OBGYN colleagues across the South Eastern suburbs. As well as English, Dr Shashian is fluent in Greek.
