Important things you need to know about Partner Visa Application 1) Proof and Confirmation

One of the risks of partner visas is that applicants tend to think that their relationship is genuine. As a matter of fact, due to numbers of false applications, the department has openly stated that they are targeting partner visas. Because of this, partners need to demonstrate their relationship with a range of evidence in different areas. Proofs and evidence might include co-owned assets such as the following:

· Joint bank accounts with several months of activity
· Cars or Property
· Leases or Joint utility bills
While social evidences may include:
· Photos
· Joint travel records
· Detailed statements from friends and family members
Consistency and accuracy including high level of details has a great impact on the application. Written statements and accounts from relatives and friends might also be helpful and may add as proof and evidence. In line with this, it is recommended that applicants’ information on their social media accounts is well updated.

2)Character and Personality

It is expected that an applicant should be in good character and free of any criminal records. The Australian government wants to ensure that any applicant is free from such criminal offenses. Any suspicion relating to smuggling and other crimes may result to visa refusal.

3) Cost

It is said that Australian partnership visas are one the most expensive in the world. It has gone up for the last three to four years
In here, you just don’t think of the application fee but you also have to consider other things and factors such as health examinations, police checks in Australia and any countries you’ve lived in for more than 12 months in the last 10 years. Then there come other fees such as migration agent and lawyer fees. Therefore, if you are going to invest money make sure that you do it right even for the first time because sometimes minor mistakes would cost you a lot.

4) Time Frame

The department of immigration has set a planning level for partner visa applications. In fact, they have set 47, 825 visas per year but they receive 70,000 applications. This is one of the main reasons why applicants have to wait several months, ranging from 12-18 months for their visa. It is really hard and anxious wait. You only can expect to hear little or nothing from the department

5) Honesty

Honesty plays an essential and vital role in all kind of visa applications. False claims may result to unfortunate consequences. This would assess your character. Therefore, it is important to disclose all relevant details about your character even if it occurs years ago.

6) Health Requirements

Applicants have to undergo health checks including any children they have even if they would not come with them to Australia. The behind reason for this is to foresee if there will be a burden on Australia’s health care system in the future. Therefore, it is important to declare any medical issues if they have any.

7) Recognition Paths

Under partnership visa program, there are two paths of recognition; (1) the de facto which requires 12 months of relationship and (2) the married path which has no requirement.
However, there is an exception to the 12-month de facto wait period if ever a couple is registered with a federally recognised state or territory relationships register.

8) Lodge on Time

Right timing is always the key in any visa application. It is very important to note that deadlines are crucial. So, if you are in a substantive visa, you need not to wait for your visa to get expire. After lodging an onshore application, you will likely be eligible for an interim bridging visa while your partner visa is processed.
