We come to you, set up the cooking station and do live cooking, adding a flare to your event. Live cooking on the charcoal fired grill and tempting aromas from spiced up bar-b-que, will make you come back for more and more tender delicacies. And that’s what we do best at That Tikka Guy.

About Us

Your hosts, That Tikka Guy – Amit and Tejinder have been looking closely at the Indian catering scene in Sydney for last few years and came across many event caterers with amazing food experiences and some not so good. We dug real hard to find someone who could really cater to satisfy taste buds of finger licking Indian cuisine, and that too with a live cooking experience. Nothing came close. So with our past experiences working in food and hospitality industry, we decided to bridge that gap. And as a result the That Tikka Guy was born.

With Amit’s experience of working with and around food for last 16 years and Tejinder’s experience of working on a grill station in a busy kitchen, we started on a food journey around 18 months ago exploring what Indian grilled food offerings are around us, as mentioned before we found finger licking good food and some not so. So with our knowledge and experience we developed our menu, honed on the concept of live catering, bringing out the best of theatre vibe and spice grilled aromas on the venue, creating a tempting appetite for our guests, That Tikka Guy is at your service.

What makes us different to the rest?

• We do not serve pre-cooked food. Other catering services, cook the food in bulk somewhere far away, then bring it to the venue, heat it up and leave it sitting in the chafing dishes.
• We cook the food live on charcoal fired grill, assemble fresh salads while grilling is getting done and serve piping hot food as and when you are ready.
• You will get the sweet spiced aroma of live grilling, which will increase one’s appetite and when you taste the food, you will appreciate what a difference live cooking makes.

What does That Tikka Guy offer?

We cater for any kind of occasion you have in mind. Be it your engagement party, corporate party, Christmas festivity, graduation or any other celebrations. We listen and try to understand what our client wants, who our guests will be, are they new to taste Indian cuisine, are they able to handle a bit of spice or a lot of spicy flavors? We have a small questioner for the client to help us fill up so that we know exactly what we need to deliver. We can prepare the food mild or as hot as you like, satisfying all taste buds. But unfortunately we DO NOT DO CURRIES! (In saying so we serve the famous butter chicken and dal makhani with rice on special request) Reason being we want to introduce people, to the taste and flavor of fresh charcoal grilled tikka’s and other food items, so one can savor the cuisine and the complexity of the spices and how they complement the food which may be non-vegetarian or vegetarian.

How does That Tikka Guy work?

On the day, depending if it is lunch or dinner party (and the number of guests) we will arrive 3-4hours in advance to set up the prep-area. This will give enough time to set up the pop-up gazebo, the grill, the buffet table and do all the preparations to get ready for the live cooking in front of the guests.

We can arrange all your party needs may it require plastic/paper plates, cups, cutlery, set up of a drinks table, order drinks (non-alcoholic) from us, cake table if required, at very nominal rates.
