DAVID HOBSON

Australian tenor and composer David Hobson is one of Australia’s best known operatic performers. He has sung many roles for Opera Australia including his award-winning performances of Rodolfo (La Boheme) and the title role in Orphee.

David has also appeared with most of the state opera companies in Australia including the Victorian Opera’s productions of ‘Through the Looking Glass’ and ‘The Elixir of Love’. Internationally, he has appeared with San Francisco Opera in the world premiere of ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ and a concert with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

Special engagements include the title role in Candide at the 2006 Perth International Festival, a performance in the Great Hall Canberra for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and singing the National Anthem at the AFL Grand Final. He is also well known to television audiences from his appearances on ‘Carols in the Domain’, ‘Carols by Candlelight’, ‘It Takes Two’ and ‘Dancing with the Stars’.

David has won numerous awards including an MO Award for Operatic Performer of the Year, the Sydney Critic’s Circle Award, The Age Performing Arts Award for Best Performer in Opera, and an Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) Award.

GEORGIA WILKINSON

Beginning her classical voice training at the age of 14, Georgia excelled at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, becoming the youngest student to be awarded the Robert Salzer Voice Award.

Continuing her impressive work in musical theatre, Georgia has starred in leading roles such as Christine in ‘Phantom of the Opera’, Belle in ‘Beauty and the Beast’, Maria in ‘West Side Story’ and Charity Barnum in ‘Barnum’. Her contribution to Victorian musical theatre has been recognised with a Guild award and four Lyrebird awards.

After graduating from Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in 2014, Georgia undertook her professional debut as Sophie in Left Bauer’s production of ‘MasterClass’ which received rave reviews and was remounted for a return season and tour in 2015. In December 2015 Georgia was featured in ‘Sydney’s Carol in the Domain’ as one of eight of Australia’s finest upcoming opera singers.

RHODRI CLARKE

After graduated with first class honours from the London Royal College Of Music in 2004, Rhodri lived in the Netherlands and performed with members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. He toured extensively with Rolando Villazon’s Bolivar Soloists, appearing with the group at the Berlin Philharmonie, London’s Royal Festival Hall, the Theatre des Champs-Elysees in Paris, and in Mexico.

He has also toured through Venezuela with double bass player Edicson Ruiz of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and accompanied Bryn Terfel at Carnegie Hall in New York. Other engagements as an accompanist include performances at London’s Wigmore Hall and the Lucerne International Music Festival.

As duo-pianist, with internationally renowned David Helfgott, Rhodri has given performances of the two-piano version of the Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No3 at the Sydney Opera House, the Melbourne Recital Centre, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the KKL Hall in Lucerne, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and The Barbican Hall, London.
